All I get is commentary on what any particular person thinks an atheist must also believe to come to a status of non-belief. Which is balls. Those other reasons are not atheism, nor are those reasons always true just because someone can't imagine reaching the mindset of atheism any other way.

A lack of belief has been build around the evidence that this physical reality can not give any evidence whether God exist or not.
The problem with this result is that God is (i believe) but let us say could only be understood or perceived
well away from the physical reality and in a different reality like spirituality.
By not exploring all avenues but insisting only on the supposed incorrect evidence or physical evidence it is obvious that it would be impossible to get to God that is why this lack of investigation lead to the incorrect conclusion and this non believing turn in the belief that God is not existing.  Lightbulb

The same can be applied to the Flying spaghetti monster and pink unicorns.

You might want to look up "evidence of absence" and "absence of evidence", god falls under absence of evidence since since we can not proof his existence.

The world can work without the existence of a god, so why is he necessary?

No, completely wrong. It's not up to you to decide what atheism is built on. Each atheist may have any number of reasons. You've just done exactly what I said you would do, adding your own commentary. And you still didn't even mention a belief anywhere.

And wrong, no one is saying the physical reality cannot give evidence, just that it has not. And that's only if you come to atheism through an evidenced based analysis. You don't get to tell everyone why they have reached their conclusions.

This is completely irrelevant to how a lack of a belief is a belief. This is more of your own preconceptions about what atheists are like.
Seriously, can you please stop thinking you can tell everyone else how they reached their conclusions? Would you like us to tell you how you reached your conclusions? Huh?

You know Rob that old saying.........IF YOU KEEP SILENT YOU AGREE WITH WHAT HAS BEEN SAID.....
From this your comment that say...........Each atheist may have any number of reasons.......turn into bulls.
If atheists do not challenge unfounded ideas from other atheists like ........THE CONSCIOUSNESS IS A PRODUCT OF THE BRAIN.......they agree with those ideas or are
in error by not challenging that idea.
In both cases they show that true face of atheism which is a farce.  Smile

This also has nothing to do with how a lack of belief is a belief.

You think you're great and we're stupid, we got that on page 1.

Turn into bulls huh? You have to be pulling my leg.

You have one last try to explain how a lack of a belief is a belief.

What rob said.

Also, the idea that 'consciousness is a product of the brain' is not an atheist idea, it's a materialist, physicalist or realist idea. There are atheists who believe in all sorts of supernatural or superstitious propositions like the soul but (and here's the important bit about atheism) they don't believe in god/s. Their atheism tells you nothing about their acceptance of the existence of a soul or any other belief about anything. Why? Because atheism is not a belief.

You've had this pointed out to you, I don't know how many times. Stop conflating atheism with other belief structures. Stop it now.
Sum ergo sum

He either doesn't read what people write or has some serious mental problem which makes him forget or disregard all our points.

I think I've been pretty generous with the chances to show how a lack of belief is a belief. Let's see if he makes use of this last one before I declare victory and run around naked through the streets carrying a welding torch.

Holy Santa.
First you say............god falls under absence of evidence since since we can not proof his existence..............and then you state that.........The world can work without the existence of a god........

Oh, my God you really smash one more contradictory statement especially in the face of your mate Rob that just few minutes ago was preaching the lack of evidence into believing that God exist.
You just state something so you must have the evidence that the ....world can work without the existence of a god.

Oh, my God i am all shaken.  Worship
If this is not a belief what is it?  Panic

You're talking to one particular atheist there and trying to say that atheist has beliefs. Of course atheists have beliefs. But those other beliefs are not atheism.

Your claim is that atheism in general is a belief. Knowing nothing more about a person than they lack a belief, please show what belief they have.

I am afraid Rob that the one who declare victory is Little Rik.
Now that your mate stated his belief that .........the world can work without the existence of a god.......which of course is an unfounded statement and belief Little Rik got the evidence that atheism is based on beliefs.  Smile  Worship  Smile
