HOMOSEXUALITY IS A 'SIN'
|
Tbh I don't even want a Christian wedding with a Christian priest, regardless of whether they like my marriage or not.
I think any gay who still wants anything to do with this religion really needs to re-evaluate their life. I just want marriage to be legal as something you can do in a religiously neutral ceremony and have it be legally recognised.

"Ironically like the nativist far-Right, which despises multiculturalism, but benefits from its ideas of difference to scapegoat the other and to promote its own white identity politics; these postmodernists, leftists, feminists and liberals also use multiculturalism, to side with the oppressor, by demanding respect and tolerance for oppression characterised as 'difference', no matter how intolerable." - Maryam Namazie (July 31, 2015 at 10:00 am)Drich Wrote:(July 30, 2015 at 11:46 am)Redbeard The Pink Wrote: Well, in a way that does make sense. Churches don't pay taxes. This means they receive government relief. This means they are essentially a government service. Marriage is likewise, a government service. If churches want to refuse to marry gay people, they should start paying taxes and stop participating in the legal binding of marriage relationships (i.e. participate only in ceremony where the pastor has no legal power to officiate a legal union) . I didn't say they were funded by the government. I said they receive tax relief from the government, and they do. As long as they're getting that relief and performing marriages with government authority, they should have to marry whoever the government tells them to. I was a fucking preacher's kid, bro. I know exactly how churches are funded.
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Hint: It's not by the government. The reason Churches are not taxed is because they offer benevolence/programs to the community that the government does not have to. The only time government money is spent by the church is when the government offers food assistance to established church pantries/food give away programs, and in doing so their are a lot of federal regulations and mandates on said food, which is why most churches will not accept it. again the reason they offer tax relief is because some bean counter figured out a long time ago the church offers more in the way of services than in taxes. The church owes the state nothing. Tax relief is not a quid pro quoe exchange. It is permitted or not. If they want to retain their ability to dodge taxes and grant legal marriages, they should have to marry whoever the government tells them to. If they wish to retain the "right" to withhold the service of a marriage ceremony, they should surrender their legal power to marry and start paying taxes. Then they could offer and deny weddings to anyone they want with general impunity. It's really quite simple.
