RE: View my Website.
I'm sorry you misunderstood the movie from the trailer. I plan to do another trailer eventually. The movie is about the Wogglebug being accidentally transported into the real world of New York. He is misunderstood by the people who are scared of because he looks like an alien. He is totally harmless throughout the film, I assure you. He suffers being a stranger in a strange land for a short while before the two little girls find him and bring him into their home. The Wogglebug is still sometimes seen outside and misunderstood because he looks like an alien and is just presumed to be dangerous. There is a subplot about the scientist who brought him in being accused of being responsible and being arrested because a co-worker sets it up for spite. But in the end the Wogglebug rescuers the girls and is a hero and brings the scientist closer to his two daughters before he is transported back to his own dimension. There is another subplot about the Wogglebug looking for the meaning of love and he finds it in the end, and it is just what he says and you see the tears in his eyes.

As I said, the movie is still filming.

The 3D version of him is based directly off of the 2D version and it's not my fault it isn't perfect. I didn't make it. But it's the best we can do I think and I'm sick and tired of changing the avatar already.

And I am glad you like the picture for the books. Just so you know, I'll never be able to afford to pay for those pictures and publish any books unless my Indiegogo campaign is a success. You could at least support my franchise because of the pictures which the rest of the world won't see if I can't pay for them. I'm actually in debt for my artist right now.

Get a job.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."

For context, this is the previous verse:

"Hi Jesus" -robvalue

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you are in charge, and it's your dream, so it is your fault if it isn't perfect. You didn't make it, but you presumably paid someone to do a good job, and so far, everyone here is of the opinion that it was a terrible job. It's not the best you can do, and it's certainly not ready to be released to the general viewing public...they would crucify you. Being sick and tired of changing the avatar is an awful excuse; people don't like it and think it's creepy. If you want to get anywhere with it, you are going to have to accept what people are telling you and swallow your pride.

You are not going to guilt me into supporting you. I think the pictures are great, but the 3D rendering / animation is what you seem to be going forward with, and the 3D is awful. The 2D character looks friendly, and more importantly like a children's TV character. With the 3D version you manage to lose some of that friendliness and charm and replace it with creepiness.

It's not our fault that you are in debt, or that you won't be able to publish your books if you Indiegogo campaign is a success. People get into debt when they follow their dreams, but you will only make a profit if your dreams can attract an audience, and so far in this thread you haven't managed to do that. Take our advice, swallow your pride, and go back to the drawing board (literally) with this one before you do your Indiegogo campaign. You aren't going to attract a following with the current 3D version, but if you go with the 2D version, I personally think you would have more success.

Thank you for the unending supply of prime, distilled nightmare fuel. My sleeping pattern has been somewhat uneventful as of late, but now I can look forward to a Lovecraftian existential terror trip every time I slam my eyelids shut.

Your other option would be to lean in to the trippy HR PuffnStuff creepiness and market it to adults as a comedy. Big Grin

ETA: Wait, don't do that. I think I stumbled on to an untapped genius idea. In the same way Tim and Eric tapped the Public Access stuff, I can do trippy mid 90's 3D animation comedies.

That is not what my vision ever was in anything.

Also, the program I work with has a 2D "shader" so that the character would look more like he was in 2D but he would still look the same and everything would still be the same.

I have a fully planned series of the Wogglebug that is meant for all ages. That is Sylvie grows up by the end of the series, and the Wogglebug grows in his awareness of the ways of the world and universe and grows wiser and lives up to all he wants to be. Which is a superhero who relies on brains. The Wogglebug helps Sylvie to grow up well in her world during the course of the series and the Wogglebug also helps her to over her fears. Such as her fear of heights.

I wish I had had more to film now, but my voice actor hasn't turned in any new lines yet.

That's such an amateur voice that literally anybody can do it. It's the type of voice that people naturally do when they want to do a weird voice. You could do them yourself.

The 2D picture is good only because he's more animated in it. I know it's just a pose, but that pose adds character and motion. The 3D model's lifeless stiff movements are what make it creepy (also, the fact that some 2D designs do not translate well to 3D. His smile for instance). I could take that same design and draw a 2D version, make it just as stiff as the 3D, and it would be creepy. IOW, it's not just the fact that its 2D, it's that the 2D was well done.

RE: View my Website.
I'll contact the vendor who made me all the previous versions of the character. The best I can do also is start a web series before I release the movies to DVD. It will be a long while before I do so most likely. Because my voice actor tends to take a long time these days and I know I cannot pressure him.

I'm not doing 2D with the web series, I'm still doing 3D. I'm never replacing the voice actor as long as he's willing to do the voice. And remember, the design of the character is based off of my illustrator's drawings and I am in debt and I'll be lucky if I can pay him what remains of the first invoice this year. Then that still leaves more to pay off next year.

How much do you owe him? Don't you have any talented friends that could throw you a bone? I would have felt like a criminal charging you for that picture. I guess it's all about how much you value your own work. I'm damn near tempted to do some redesigns for you, but I really just have little faith in the core idea. Not spicey enough for me.
