Sorry Steel. I was much more of a fan of the game in general years ago than I am now. I just don't have any interest in football outside Colorado (except my beloved Boise State Broncos).

It was just sad to see a team with such a talented guy and still no-one feared them. Sure, Barry could break of 250 and three touches, but the Lions would still lose 31-21. I was surprised that he retired when he did (still had a bit in the tank) but I was more surprised he retired a Lion.
That's just it. The Lions wouldn't let him out of his contract. He wanted to go to a new team to see what he could do on a team with an actual offensive line and have the chance of winning a Super Bowl, and that's why Detroit fans were so pissed. Sanders was done with Lions as an organzation, and since he couldn't play for another team, he decided to retire.
A lot of Detroit fans hated him for it, but I wondered why it took him seven seasons to try to leave.

I always looked at Barry and thought "Damn, if we could get a guy like that, Elway could finally get his ring." Well, we never got a Barry, but we came pretty damned close with Terrell.

I played a scrimmage game on that field. Fucks with your depth perception. When they used to be able to wear those blue jerseys at home games... that must've been a serious advantage.
They tried to sell Orange turf to the Denver Broncos back in '78, trying to capitalize on the Broncos recent success and the town's ardent love for the team. They nearly managed it too. As bad as that blue is, can you imagine that bright Broncos "Blaze Orange" both on the field and the jerseys?!?

Skins put RG on the bench in favor of Kirk. Still will not change our history of ignoring our offensive line, since the days of the HOGS.

The Vikings are blazing through the preseason, and it fills me with dread since it usually presages a ghastly set of disappointments when the regular season gets underway. Why must they tease me so?
