Just saw this on CNN.

Think it ran through sheriff Joe's mind to send a detail out to shoot them all as escapees?

I-8 is one of the most desolate roads I have ever seen. And Gila Bend is little more than a gas station, a McDonalds and a taco stand.

Brings back memories. Back in the late 80s, stationed at Williams AFB in the east valley, I was driving an an Air Force pickup in Coolidge, Az. We had an auxiliary flying field at the airport. I passed a prison bus going by in the opposite direction. All of a sudden, here comes this portajohn on wheels into my lane. I had to slam on the brakes and just did avoid hitting it. It continued down the side of the road on its merry way, eventually going into a ditch. It had broken loose from the prison bus which had been towing it. The driver was totally unaware.
I always thought it would have made an interesting accident report.

I'm imagining how the pickup would have smelled and whether it could ever have been cleaned out properly or not. If you're bad, you'll get detailed to take the poop pickup. . .

Just think about the paperwork that the driver had to fill out when he got to his destination without it.
Probably tried to blame it on one of the prisoners.
