Yes, a fantasy with 40 different writers over a period of 1500 years that just happens to mesh together flawlessly.....

It does, what you guys never seem to factor in is that there just maybe a little something lost in the translation from the original language, and that english words change in meaning, or become obsolete over time.

So, if the writings can lose "something" in translation.......how do you, the mighty Huggy, know that when they were all written, they had the same meaning and didn't mean something completely different?

Doesn't the bible refer to the earth as a sphere and flat at the same time? That doesn't seem 'flawlessly meshed'. Unless of course it's a mistranslation.

'You can have all the faith you want in spirits, and the afterlife, and heaven and hell, but when it comes to this world, don't be an idiot. Cause you can tell me you put your faith in God to put you through the day, but when it comes time to cross the road, I know you look both ways.' - Dr House

“Young earth creationism is essentially the position that all of modern science, 90% of living scientists and 98% of living biologists, all major university biology departments, every major science journal, the American Academy of Sciences, and every major science organization in the world, are all wrong regarding the origins and development of life….but one particular tribe of uneducated, bronze aged, goat herders got it exactly right.” - Chuck Easttom

"If my good friend Doctor Gasparri speaks badly of my mother, he can expect to get punched.....You cannot provoke. You cannot insult the faith of others. You cannot make fun of the faith of others. There is a limit." - Pope Francis on freedom of speech

Because the scriptures till exist in the original languages, and you can refer back to them if you find a particular scripture to be confusing.

For example the name Lucifer is of latin origins, yet it appears in the old testament. I don't suppose I have to tell you latin didn't exist at the time Isaiah was written. In the hebrew the name is hêlêl.

The reason they translated the name from Helel to Lucifer is probably because Helel is a general term, Lucifer makes it more specific. The translators wanted it to be clear that particular scripture was speaking of a specific entity.

Weird that God would close the door Himself but make the puny human build the damn thing.  That's just wrong.  I mean, I know it's a story and all but it makes you wonder about the character of 'God'.

God closing the door signifies that it not going to be reopened by anyone but God. As for God's "character", he gave the people opportunity for 120 years to get into the ark, how much patience do YOU have?
