It's hard walking into any community where your opinion is in the minority. Trust me most atheists know this because on the topic of god, most atheists are quite used to this position. It's harder yet if you carry a chip on your shoulder.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

Christians are persecuted in several countries. They're being murdered in Syria, Iraq, Egypt and Pakistan.

So then there's no "persecution complex" when the persecution is real.
I'm not claiming there's a persecution complex, in those countries, anyway.
There is a persecution complex among some sections of the Christian community in the west, however.
