Meh, we put people in jail for owing money (and even for interest on money not lent, see: child support) all the time.

I;m reading through that article, and the judge says something to the effect of "there must be respect for the law".
Really, even when the law is not respectable? Respect for the law has always been the last resort of idiots who defend it's affrontery. Apparently, that's the sort of person who ends up as a judge. How very respectable.

Yeah, I know. More and more it seems to be a business concerned with municipal budgets and slush funds. It's just disappointing, is all.
