RE: Hi
This = you?

For some reason, whenever I see the town of Cardiff in print, I always read it in Dr. Who's (derogatory) voice: Caaaaahdiffff.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

Welcome Tim!
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

RE: Hi
Hello Tim! Welcome to AF.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."

For context, this is the previous verse:

"Hi Jesus" -robvalue

We're a sordid and vile bunch but mostly harmless; random outbursts of Tourettes have been observed in some members.

But they mean well.

I sense some research for a new book in this signup... Wink
Make the best of it!

Maybe, but my last book was about an atheist in love with a Christian, so I'm so done with that now. There is one character from that book who is a passionate religion hater and I have a vague idea for a book where he moves into a street where most of the homes are occupied by muslims...  Tongue
