Why religion is dying my perspective

Why religion is dying my perspective
Religion used to be held up to the most important value in life until technology really started kicking into high gear.
That being said more people are filling up their free time with other things such as social media online gaming and gambling.
So when it comes down to it on the weekends there is more to do now than there was back then. You can stay home torrent a movie,
watch a good tv show, play a online game or even message people on facebook and other social media outlets.. Going on people who have
active youtube channels like mine (seriously need to post stuff regularly) really do not see religion as a important thing anymore as we are
as of now more connected through technology than any dogmatic belief. Technology and science not religion can go past dogmatic barriers
that separate us in whole and unite us unlike religion were its like okay you are a christian hate everyone else for not being one. So there religion dying the belief in god still there for now..
Atheism is a non-prophet organization join today.

That's an interesting perspective.

I have often lamented that it is impossible to unite Atheists
the same way it is possible to unite Muslims,
because, as you say, Theism unites (while it also creates hatred for Atheism).

however, you are probably right:

For the first time,
people have something in common to unite them, in the use of technology,
with an efficacy that heretofore was unmatched,
except by religion.

Also, with the internet, has come a boom in pornography,
which is also uniting people, but not openly,

for example Josh Duggar has more in common now with a certain demographic of society,
that, had he been an adult, back in the 80s, he would not have had much in common with.

however, it is the USE of technology, and its distractions,
that they have in common;

it does not provide a creed or code of ethics;
people do not agree on social or moral views;
they simply utilize the same tools.

And technology, while it has united the globe in an unprecedented fashion,
simultaneously now divides individuals in a way that is likewise unprecedented.

Religion isn't dying and it won't die, as long as people are afraid of death. So, for all eternity.

Those who identify as religious may decrease, but that does not mean they stop believing in their gods.

reminds me of this clip from Addams Family Values.

It pretty much depicted my own reaction,
at the church camp my mother sent me to, when I was a kid:

I think that fear of death may actually be partially taught. If your parents make out that you basically live forever, then you're not mentally preparing yourself for reality as your brain develops. When you realize that's a load of shit, there will be a jarring effect and suddenly infinite years have been taken off your existence.

If instead death is explained in a sensible way, when you are old enough to understand it, I think it can be more easily accepted. I've never had a problem with it at all. No false promises were made to me about it, and I've grown up accepting that it's coming but there's no point fretting about it.

Interesting perspective. Gathering at church events has decreased as a leisure time activity.

I prefer better education causing religious down fall rather that having more leisure time activities. More people now have (have been given) the ability to see through the fairy tale bullshit.
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.
