I lasted about 45 seconds into a bunch of ass-kissing talk. Ugh. Yuck. Is there a punchline that I should watch it again for?

I just wondered if it's all like that? If it is, then I've seen enough to bitch a bit. If there is something else in there though, I'll try again and wait out the annoying on-a-pedestal stuff, especially if there is a punchline coming up or profound statement, or something different than that stuff at the beginning. I imagine it's like being black and watching a white person go on and on and on about how wonderful black people are.

Is this your first experience with stand-up comedy? It is known as the set up, you see, comedians do this to lull the audience into a false sense of security then they change direction, it is the juxtopostion of the after to the before which generates the funny. Leo, LOL! Rhizo RE: Hans Teeuwen.

After the serious gender topic in the objectifying thread, I worried that it was an entire I'm-not-a-sexist-just-a-reverse-one rant. Now that you mention stand up though, I'll listen to the whole thing. Just wanted to find out if the whole thing was like that without having to suffer through it to find out!  Sure enough, the thing changed right after the point I turned it off earlier. I'd delete my original post, but it's much too late, so um, never mind, just ignore it.
