Here's why Creatards might be right
RE: Here's why Creatards might be right
Ok Jenny so we've established you say you believe in non-random natural selection and you believe God started off the evolutionary process.

So supposedly you believe in evolution and you're a deist.

But you do seem rather confused about evolution as you question it so I ask you now: What is it about evolution that confuses you? Or what is it that you find "hard to believe" or whatever?

I mean if you believe in mutation and natural selection and you believe we are all from common ancestors then you've got the basics so I don't get what's going on here, I'm really confused.

Don't worry, Evie, she is too.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I think she's pretty sure of herself. I just don't think she has the intellectual capacity to understand just how utterly stupid she has made herself look in this thread.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

That's not what you pointed out...but if that's what you're pointing out -now-.....here again we see your dishonesty.  It's kind of hard to strawman a person when you use the actual quote function.  Are you pretending to know what strawmanning means, now..or have you always known.....even as you strawmanned us repeatedly?

Would it matter if I were strawmanning you....you declined a rational conversation, you opted out of those standards, remember?

go ahead and continue to strawman me since im not agreeing to conform to your strict standards of commenting go ahead and assume that im arguing against something that im not really arguing against knock yourself out

I don't think it's that either.
To subscribe to a "god", everyone needs to short circuit their natural logic processes as the 2 are not compatible with each other.

Sounding stupid or trollish on an anonymous forum is a very small price to pay to reinforce held belief.
We all have to make sacrifices in life, and we all have different priorities.

Logic and understanding of the real world does not necessarily bring peace to oneself.
My only question is why come to this forum in particular?
Most people come to learn or to preach. Jenny seems to be doing neither.

Tut tut, you don't get to use that term, Jen, you don't recognize those standards, remember (or....were you lying about this as well)?  You've just repeated your opting out in this very response. Would you like to opt back in, the door is always open?

As to the item at hand, it's not -my- fault you know so little about evolution that you don't realize when you're arguing against it, now is it? It's not as if it hasn't been pointed out to you, repeatedly. All avenues for excuse have been closed.

on most christian websites they have very strict rules where you can only discuss certain things you cant criticize the central teachings of the christian religion so thats what i wanted to go find somewhere where religious people were attracted to which of course is here being lost sheep central , that didnt have such restrictions on criticising their religion you can really say anything against cristianity here to christians so the freedom to criticize and find christians and find discussions on religion but there are a lot of interesting topics on this site besides religion so i get distracted from that sometimes

well im not confused about evolution i believe all that i just believe that God is responsible for evolution and there is an intelligent design behind it all and people are disagreeing with that concept and other certain OCD inclined people(person) i wont name names are just taking issue with my debating style and method and failure to comply with their standards and dont even care about the topic so going back and forth with that silliness also

Tarot cards, astrology, feng shui, having showers, etc
Jen, for all the reasons that makes most of us atheists, are usually the same reasons why we don't believe in all things woo.

(just kidding about showers of course! I have one every month whether I need to or not)    Tongue

Obviously you are..because you don't believe in evolution, you believe in intelligent design.  Debating style...lol?  No, you've failed to provide a valid inference, and you've failed to provide any evidence.   The standard is called reason, the system is logic, and words have meanings..thus evidence must be evident, logic must be valid, and reason must be sound.

Is there any of this, for the umpteenth time, that you don't understand? If you're unclear, for example, about the meanings of words, or the system of logic, or how to form a rational claim - I...will...help.....you. I may not agree, in the end, with what I help you to arrive at, but at least you won't continue to shame yourself, and shame your beliefs.
