Benefits of colonialism? Let's see. How does the OP miss the most blindingly obvious one: the spread of germs. Sub-Saharan Africa wasn't colonized sooner because Europeans kept dying of, e.g. Yellow Fever. The reasons the OP listed are silly and demonstrate a love of imperialism. Clearly they are a Fascist; Africa has been contaminated by the two religions of their slave masters.

Pros:

Compared with their contemporaries: the British and French empires were, relatively, the most benign.

The rush for empire was a necessary strategic strategy against your enemies empire.


Cons:

Do you think annexing countries and peoples as property into another countries empire is reasonable?
A polemical radical on anything and everything topical.
