Then you and I have defined the term Heredity in different ways. This is what I suspected was happening.
I can't bring myself to go look it up, I hate doing that, so I will just say that I think that is a very allegorical use of the term, and certainly not what I thought you meant. I maintain that I think Heredity (but not as much inheritance) has to mean genetic code, and appreciate you differing view.

The problem is that you are treating it as an 'either or' situation and it isn't.
The genetics increase your chances, but they don't control them, and nurture does influence the chances more than nature.
But yes, it is a disease, rather like depression is a disease. Saying 'just cheer up' is just as useless as saying 'just quit drinking'.
