Philosophy vs Metaphysics vs Theology vs Science

Philosophy vs Metaphysics vs Theology vs Science
This showed up on my wall at FB as a meme:

Philosophy is like being in a dark room and looking for a black cat.

Metaphysics is like being in a dark room and looking for a black cat that isn't there.

Theology is like being in a dark room and looking for a black cat that isn't there, and shouting "I found it!"

Science is like being in a dark room and looking for a black cat using a fucking flash light.

Ha, the same meme showed up on my feed as well.  I would just change one...

Theology is like being in a dark room and looking for a black cat that isn't there, and shouting "I found it!" after having thrown the flashlight in the trash.

Until you achieve yogic transcendence, yes.

Don't worry, my friend.  If this be the end, then so shall it be.

It never mentions life.

The dark room is a metaphor for the unknown or uncertainty.  The cat is a metaphor for god.  The flashlight is reason.

That's disingenuous. It's talking about types of people. Or something....

types of people searching the unknown for something not proved to exist... with or without using their brains.    Or something...

Maybe the cat, once observed and hence proved to exist, will be dead and hence will no longer exist.  So, before the observation, the cat can be said to both exist and not exist simultaneously.   So, the philosopher, the metaphysicist, and the theologian will forever search for the cat that neither is nor isn't until the scientist comes along and kills it with the flashlightsaber...
