404
Quote:Once upon a midnight dreary, while I websurfed, weak and weary,
Over many a strange and spurious website of 'hot chicks galore',
While I clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning,
And my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour,
"Tis not possible," I muttered, "give me back my cheap hardcore!"

Quoth the server, "404."

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

A classic.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Not bad for something at least 15 years old now! I used that as my 404 on a previous website of mine. And then once on a forum, a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away someone said "that link was broken!" And I was like 'WTF there's a goddamed deadlink on mai site someplace'? But then I read the next sentence which warmed my heart "but I had a jolly good laugh from the error page!" Of course paraphrasing, but ya get the idea!

I'm pretty sure the quote I gave is the original for this version (and there are variants), at least it's as I remember it c. 2000. It was certainly not 'porn-surfed' in place of 'websurfed' as suggested here.

The first time I saw it, it used "pr0n-surfed" or perhaps "pr0n-searched". Presumably it wasn't the original.
