Women's clothes?

Not having a consensus regarding these particular views is all the more reason for everyone to mind their own goddamned business, IMO.

Who is going to mind their own business of it anymore. It's set sail long ago. The tug war is on.

'Tug war'? I think Freud just slipped...

I don't know what you mean by this...relative to what?

Quote:just to let you know, I look for objective guidance as opposed to defining morals by my desires.

What objective guidance?  If you mean the Qu'ran, I don't consider that objective.  At all.

Quote:So until you can prove your morals objectively, no one will take you guys seriously.

Oh ho ho.  So you speak for EVERYONE, now, do you???

Quote:People however will take Islam seriously and it still has the most converts coming to it.

Popularity does not necessarily equal virtue, either.
George W. Bush got two terms, after all.
The Backstreet Boys were popular, too.

Besides, there is another philosophy that is growing as fast as Islam...and that is Atheism.
So pull in your horns.

Quote:you keep yapping your subjective virtues which has no reality no substance in your own words,
"no objective moral facts exist" according to you,

Again, I don't know what this means.  What are you talking about???

Quote:People will look for guidance, for purpose, and they will find a book that points to the way of that path and reminds of a Lord who upon him is the guiding of the way (...)

"they will, they will, they will...."

You're quite the authority on what conclusively WILL or WILL NOT happen, now, aren't you?

Quote:(...) and who doesn't share your sense of virtue fortunately regarding this
"mind your own goddamned business" attitude.

WOW.  SCARY SHIT RIGHT THERE.

You are so convinced that YOUR book is the right one,
and so convinced that God is on YOUR side,
and so sure of what God wants...

You sound just like a Southern Baptist.

The fact that you have a problem with being told to mind your own business,
especially regarding people who are not hurting you or taking anything from you,

the fact that you actually believe God has given you guidelines
and no-one else's beliefs are valid,

THAT is why people have a problem with Religion....and Islam in particular.

If God wants to descend from the Heavens and pitch me and all the other non-muslims and infidels into hell,
fine with me.

But God Himself has to show up and do it.

Not His followers.

Otherwise, I have no way of knowing if it's really His will,
or just a bunch of raving lunatics who want to kill me because my way just doesn't jive with their way,
and they can't handle that.

Yeah, but this tug war primarily exists in places where people's ideologies render them unable to mind their own godddamned business. From where I and many others stand, there simply is no tug war on this particular matter.

I wear whatever the hell I want to wear.
Don't like it? Too fucking bad.

RE: Women's clothes?
This wasn't the right place for me to talk about this subject (higher modesty) and say what I said. I admit I was wrong. In real life, I never tell anyone anything about what they are wearing.  And as I said, I don't think bad of anyone for what they wear.

I do agree we should mind our business in that respect. However, I feel, we all have the right to voice our opinion on higher modesty and our standards on that. That is not to say it's ok to go to a place full of women in bikinis and then start preaching to them they are immodest or anything like that.

What it comes down to it however to me really is that you guys follow whatever you desire.  And you don't even believe it's objective, but merely what you think. Whatever you want to be moral is moral. And whatever you want to be evil is evil.

You are welcome to wear whatever you want.  But if you wear clothes that reveal or accentuate your sexuality, in the eyes of others, then do not complain when those eyes are looking at you as an object of sexual interest.  If your boobs are showing, and men look at them, you don't get to say, "Like oh my gawwwwwd I'm up here!" and if your camel-toe vagina is showing through your tight yoga pants, you don't get to be surprised when men start drooling and staring at your crotch.

Good for you,  however the same logic doesn't apply to others who will get up in arms about people staring while wearing clothes specifically for the purpose of attention.

I'm not trying to limit what women can and can't wear,  I'm just sick of the hypocrisy that comes with it.
