Oh no, what have you done!

Put it on their plate and didn't make an issue of it. That and I drowned the sprouts in butter and salt.

Tell me about it, Linda McCartney has a lot to answer to.

Not near as much as Yoko, though.

I would apologize, but seriously, I can't eat them without gagging. I do assume that for all but the asparagus, it's about the texture. The only time I was able to eat mushrooms was in a turn over where they'd been chopped super fine and covered in a strong tasting cheese. People tell me they 'mask' them in things like pasta sauce all the time. No you don't - I may not complain and I will swallow the pieces whole to get it over with and be polite, but the second I bite down into a mushroom, I know what the fuck it is.

Honestly, if our kids don't like it, we usually won't make it unless one of us wants it. And then we won't make them eat it. We know what vegetables our kids will eat, and which ones they won't. I wouldn't want to be forced to eat something I didn't like, and I know my husband wouldn't like it either. I doubt many people would!

Kids also need to be able to make choices. We let them make choices when we go to restaurants, and usually once a week for dinner they get to decide what they want. It's fun for them, and it gives them a sense of responsibility.

If they won't eat their green peas, find a vegetable they do like. Try fixing them different ways too. If you make eating vegetables a chore, your kids won't want to eat them anyway. Because who likes chores?
