Dan Barker, "No meaning to life."

Dan Barker, "No meaning to life."
Sagan said it in his "Pale Blue Dot" speech, and even Shakespeare though he didn't have any scientific way of knowing how right he was in MacBeth Act 5 scene 5 "flurry of activity signifying nothing". It is absurd to think in a 14 billion year old universe on a 4 billion year old planet, that humans are the center of the planet, much less the universe. In cosmic time, no, there is no meaning, but NOW does matter.

The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

What do you guys think of this response to the Dan Barker article? This is on another page in response to the article.

Yea scientists should never question anyone's claims, gotta let people pretend, even if the claim is bad and the delusion in mass gets political and causes human divisions.

Holly crap this fucker missed the entire point, and for an "atheist" this idiot is brain dead. YES WE DO MATTER FUCKWAD, just not in any superstitious bullshit gap answer context.

I think it's idiotic answer. Why exactly should science stay on it's side of the fence? And what fence? Maybe the guy is pro NOMA but changed words from religion to philosophy?
The first revolt is against the supreme tyranny of theology, of the phantom of God. As long as we have a master in heaven, we will be slaves on earth.
