So Refreshing.
This is what happens when an atheist has good fortune.

Quote:'Miracle' as girl declared dead in Michigan Uber murders walks out of hospital

Quote:Abigail's heart stopped and despite the frantic efforts of several doctors and medical professionals, she was declared dead at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo later that night.

So the doctors made a mistake.  And later they put her on a ventilator and did brain surgery but what did Mom say?

Quote:"I'm always a little dubious of the word 'miracle'. Because you can say miracle — what does that mean? Most people tend to use that as an argument from ignorance. We can't explain it, therefore it's a miracle. Fortunate? Absolutely."

That's got to be the first time ever!

But most of all, how wonderful that the girl survived.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

That kind of statement at a Methodist hospital, no less.

But, yes, kudos to the highly trained medical staff, and happy relief to the mother and especially her daughter.

For people under the yoke of religion for a depressingly long time, the Irish have a somewhat cynical proverb that seems to fit cases like this: 'Pray to God, but row away from the rocks.'

Innit funny how medical 'miracles' always seem to happen in hospitals filled with highly trained people and state-of-the-art medical equipment? It strikes me that if God was going to miracle this girl, he could have either made the bullet her entirely, or simply healed her on the way to hospital.

The fucker might have stopped the shooter in the first place, too.

Asshole never seems to think of stuff like that.

Guys, you're forgetting that God strained so hard to deflect the bullet away from her vital organs, that he let out a wet one.
But it was worth it, it's not about his pride, it's about saving a life!

The guy's a fucking unsung hero!

Nah, just bored and fucking around as usual...

Here's another refreshing news:

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

The fairer sex is a delicate thing. We mustn't take a woman's words seriously. Heck, for all we know she could be on her period. (And you know how women and their harmones get.)
