Why can't I see the devil?
God wants to hide but what about the devil? What's his excuse? Is Satan mysterious too?

The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Much like God, Satan does not want you to know he exists. Nevermind that he could claim to be God. Like I don't know, pretend to be born of a virgin. Then he could perform some minor miracles that really never help people out. Like turning water into an alcoholic beverage, or walking on a pond or something. He might even do some beneficial things just to make people believe, like healing people. No, he doesn't want you to know he exists. Just like God doesn't want you to know he exists. Sometimes it seems like they're the same people!
The whole tone of Church teaching in regard to woman is, to the last degree, contemptuous and degrading. - Elizabeth Cady Stanton

It's easier to deceive you if you don't recognize his presence in your life.
