Oh, the irony.
Sure they've heard R+L=J because it's the most talked about and agreed upon fan theory. It's still not obvious in the books if you haven't heard of it.
The evidence for Tyrion being a Targaryen is laid out pretty bare in the books. It's almost hokey, he's got one Lannister eye, one Targaryen eye. He has many qualities of the Lannisters, he shares a love for the downtrodden like Dany.
To me, the evidence is too obvious, and having read the books, it seems like the kind of red herring GRRM would put out there to hook you so that when he goes in a different direction, it'll be that much more surprising.
A lot of people knowing about a different fan theory doesn't really have anything to do with it.

I picked up on Jons' parental clues all on my own from reading the books. This is the first I have ever heard about different parentage for Tyrion, though it makes sense once laid out that way. Could also be nothing. Sometimes I think Martin changes his story just to spite his fans. Seriously.

I did too, the bed of blood in the Tower of Joy and the secret Eddard had to keep seemed really significant, even if it was buried in a fever dream.
Tyrion could be a Targ, it wouldn't be surprising to me if he was. I just don't think he is.

There's no point arguing. I personally think they're both Targaryens and, if not both, then Snow is the actual Red Herring, for obvious reasons - it's working.
To be honest it seems to me like you're letting your wishful thinking get the better of you. You basically made my point without reaching the same conclusion above and didn't even notice it.

Just imagine how much duller it will be when we'll see him revive... Everyone expects it to happen. A part of me actually hopes he'll stay dead. The fucking fan theories ruined it.

One question, who knows and would set the record straight?
Aerys and Joanna are both dead. Tywin is dead. Everyone but Ser Barristan Selmy on Aerys' Kingsguard is dead. Who else could know the truth?
It could be Barristan Selmy in the books, but he's dead in the series, and if Weiss and Benioff know the ending, would they have killed off the only person that could possibly relay the truth?

I've always thought Jon would live on through Ghost.

The "spoilers within" portion was in preparation for the show, which is less than a week away now!!!
Also, book talk can spoil some things for people still. I think we're going to visit the Greyjoys this season, and the outcome of the Kingsmoot could be of importance to some...
