How can anyone not trust most of a book, but then live by that book? Thinking

How can anything in said book be trusted?

Answer: It can't.

Yeah, that's great. But could you answer my questions?

Mr. Olefemi isn't using any bible, except for the bit's with Jesus. He's god is loving and peaceful and doesn't send people to hell because they don't believe.

Even if we all are atheists because god is a terrible man, there is no reason for us to believe in this god either, because if he is real– as long as we are good people we are okay. Of course, the reason most of us don't is because there is a lack of evidence. especially when you realize how much terrible shit goes down in the world every day and a good god would not let this happen.

You are a step above most Christians for saying the bible was written by man, most say it's all literal and is the word of god. How did you decide that Jesus was real and god as well? You acknowledge that the bible was written by men, so, as Chasm said: how do you know they didn't make up god and Jesus as well?

But I don't live by the book,Rhage.I never even said that I do.Why are you putting words into my mouth? What I have said is that I trust the teachings of Jesus.Yes Jesus is in the book but not the majority of it.I trust a very small part of the bible, and not the majority as you have said.I am trying to be specific but are assuming things about me that are not true.

Cego,it's my faith and I make no secret of that or pretend it is anything else.I sincerely believe in god and Jesus.Maybe that's ignorant but many people feel the same.Maybe you are right and there is no god but I can't help believing that there is.Or maybe there is,maybe one day we will all find out.

I wasn't trying to put words in your mouth. But you use the jesus bits that you pulled from your buybull. That means you live by those, correct?

As you have been asked before, how do you know this jesus wasn't created and corrupted by the men you purport wrote the buybull?

You are being quite rude chasm,I am not a hypocrite so do not accuse me of being one.I have openly said that I distrust a lot of the bible and do not live by it.There is nothing hypocritical about that. Please read what I say.
Rhage, I won't answer you questions if you cannot show some basic respect. It is the bible, not the buybull. If all you want to do is make fun, then don't waste your time.

Oh, very nice! Turn the tables on us so you don't have to justify yourself. Excellent. You are living up to your xtian reputation already.

Last time I checked, YOU came HERE. We didn't come to you. You cannot expect to come here with your preconceived notions and then run away when you are faced with the absurdity of your belief.

Good day, "Sir." I said Good Day!
