No. Removing blind from blind faith does not make faith anymore justifiable. They are equally ridiculous for substantiating something to anyone but yourself.

RE: God's character
He had faith based on countless previous occurences and tests that the apple would indeed fall down; as Arcanus so aptly put faith "faith is the sum of having the information, being persuaded of its truthfulness, and trusting in it." Being devoid of proof does not useless make, nor does faith equal devoid of reason and logic.

"Blind faith" is a tautology.

@EvF It's only a tautology (unnecessary second definition or rhetoric) if the original definition weren't filled with the bias of believing faith is dependant on the exclusion of logic, reason and information as I've shown in my example.

Belief that is not based on proof. I'm guessing you are disagreeing with fr0d0 who admits that "faith is illogical" then?

Where is the logical processing behind belief without evidence?

RE: God's character
It doesn't say evidence it says proof and yes I disagree with the statement faith is illogical. Believing without evidence is "blind" faith. Aslo believing despite evidence is "blind". However basing your beliefs on subjective evidence and testing with logic and reason, coupled with trust in that conclusion is faith.

RE: God's character
So you believe it's possible to have faith in evidence?

How is "faith" required if you have evidence?

@EvF,
1- When the evidence isn't completely conclusive but indicative and you can't eliminate every possible bias or variable, yes.
2- Faith that enough biases have been removed to indicate more truth and reliability then falsity.
