CHERRY !!!
I remembered some good candy from when I was a kid, IOW, the candy itself, not the brand, or the wrapper. Spent some time on the internet recently and had a feeling when looking at the pictures of the Regal Crown line, I was getting pretty close.
I order Sour Cherry, and bingo, that be it. They are similar to Life Savers, but no hole, and are actually thicker in the middle. I don't recall them being individually wrapped in the roll (in fact I recall having to chisel them apart to eat) but it's a nice feature.
As for my recollection from 50 years ago compared to actually having one now; they are close, very close. I am thinking perhaps, the ones from way back when were not at the peak of freshness, LOL. That would explain the difference.
Also, I do recall the cherry variety, and that's what I ordered, but I think back in the day, I usually had grape.
Anyhow, it's really fun to recapture something from so long ago, and of all the other shit I've lost over the years, this is a pretty nice thing to recover.

The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
