Quite a few members of my family have served in the military and I always wanted to do that too, but I can't due to past instances of depression.

What did you want to be / do when you grew up?
|
Having gone to a private school, dad had dreams of me being a doctor or a pilot.
I hate the sight of blood and I don't like heights but apart from that ....
No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.
I'm pretty sure the first thing I said was firefighter. Then when I was a little older it changed to baseball player. Then I had no idea. twenty years later and I still don't.

I wanted to be a test pilot/CEO with my BFF of an aircfraft/spacecraft manufacturer. I used to enjoy drawing concepts on graph paper.
In my younger years, I wanted to be a tow truck driver. I liked all the amber lights and big, manmobile trucks with hooks on them. In reality? No driver's or pilot's license, and retired to to disability. I still am an aviation buff and enjoy watching aviation-minded YouTube accounts, like... https://www.youtube.com/user/MrAviation101 I kind of enjoyed The Weather Channel's reality show on towing and salvage in northern Alberta and BC. I can't remember the name to save my life, though.

I used to watch a lot of surgical operations on the TV when I was younger, so I guess I just kinda numbed myself to the sight of blood.
I wanted to fly F-14s off'n carriers.
I never did settle on one. As a result, I've done a lot of different things, which is okay.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.
I loved F-14s as a kid. My aforementioned BFF was into F-16s and we argued over it. We agreed that SR-71's were super cool, though.

I wanted to be a writer and pen the next great American novel. I think I have the talent to write something decent, but life has eaten away any ambition I once had. Maybe if I can ever get my depression under control, I'll turn back to writing. I've got a good story on the back burner.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell
