UK secularism on the march
#11
RE: UK secularism on the march
"Half of all Christians in England and Wales are over the age of 55, although Catholics have a younger age profile."

And then the numbers will drop off a cliff!

Although the bit that made me laugh was a quote from a Church of England spokesperson: "“The increase in those identifying as ‘no faith’ reflects a growing plurality in society rather than any increase in secularism or humanism. We do not have an increasingly secular society as much as a more agnostic one."

I am sure this a evidence-based comment. Anyway, he seems to be clinging to the hope that 'agnostic' should mean 'knowing there's *something* but not quite daring to call it God'. Plus, he's almost seeking solace in the fact that 'adherents to organised religion' are increasing in number... who would've thought that anyone except Muslims would be pleased about the advance of Islam..?

You mean improving as a society.

A good example of how empathy improves a society. I very much doubt that Drich has ever lived in the UK. He wouldn't do well here.

Well according to you, all people need to do is ASK... all they need is a Bible and a specific mindset. Organised religion or lack of should have nothing to do with it. But you can save the day Drich! All you gotta do is figure out a way of spamming us Brits with "Just ASK!" leaflets and you're laughing. But if any comes to my house, it's going straight in the bin along with all the other Get Rich Quick schemes  Tongue

More like get Drich quick schemes! ;-)
