If you've built acoustic guitars, you can do a dulcimer, I bet. Lower string-tensions make for less headache, I imagine, from the luthier's perspective.
Yeah, I think I'm going to take it. She's in no real rush, so I'll probably pick one up for a pattern. And you couldn't be more right about the string tension.
