UK to leave EU
RE: UK to leave EU
Thinking about this during the day (when not answering questions about Clare county council), I think May has pulled this stunt for two reasons, 1) to ensure the hardest of hard brexits. I was ever suspicious of her remain credentials, in the coalition she was the EU's biggest critic and during the referendum she was nowhere to be seen (unlike Corbyn who actually toured the country and gave many stump speeches in support). The tranch of new Tory MPs coming in will, to a man, be the kind of swivel eyed loons that'll want the country out no matter what.
2) She knows that a hard brexit will be disasterous for the party of government at the next election, so calling one now gives her a few years (not really, the FTPA is now dead) and the chance to call herself a "two term" PM.

So as you said it's all for her narrow personal interests.

And it's becoming increasingly obvious that Theresa May's brexit plan is "Fuck the UK, I wanna look tough in front of Rupes and d'Acre".

Well if situations like the destruction of the NHS (very likely) or the breakdown of the peace process (about 50/50) happen because of her arrogance and craven brown nosing of the far right media, the resulting oceans of blood will be on her hands.

Oh I've finally figured out the UK's position vis a vis the Irish dimension of the talks. The fucking idiots in the Tory government still think the island's a colony that they can do what they wish with.

Yeah.... how's that whole thing coming along?  Have the Brits figured out if they want a hard or soft fucking up their asses?

As it is they currently want to be both in and out of the common market, free to import chlorinated chicken from the US yet also free to import to the EU without having to come up to those pesky standards.

As I said the fuckers are living in the 18th century.
