None of you will remember the guy. He was a local singer/songwriter in Austria, and even I forgot about him until I read of his demise the other day. Life long humanist, non dogmatic communist, always writing lyrics on the disenfranchised. Workers, migrants or drug addicts. His name was Sigi Maron, if you want to look him up.
Now, the reason why I'm posting this is the orbituary I just read on the web page of our national tv station. It ends with the words "Farewell on your journey into the big nothing". That's showing some real respect for the deceased, since he never was a believer. And that's what I love about the place I grew up. Religion isn't a part of daily life, unless you want it to be.
