I have to say, I was extremely happy that I got to see a female Presidential candidate get nominated by a major political party (on my oldest biological granddaughters birthday too!) About damn time. I may not have supported her in the primaries, but she has my full support now. Now I just hope I get to see the first female president's inauguration in January.

I want female president as well but there is also Jill Stein i hope she and Gary get into the debates soon.

It is too late for this cycle and too much is at stake to fuck with it now. But Hillary must go in 2020. It will depend on how she does; she may turn out to be a very good President who deserves a second term. If not, I'm curious, would you support a Republican candidate, or are you thinking about a potential challenger for the Democratic nomination (which would be almost unprecedented).
Jill Stein's chances of winning the election or even being in the debates is the same chances of a Catholic Lesbian Priest getting an abortion.
As it relates to women, I think I'd prefer a non-camille cosby type to be the first.
Anything possible is a nice message to my daughter. But then you look at the details, she came in on her Husbands coattails, who she stayed with despite decades of infidelity, his being an alleged rapist, and public humiliation, and then rode his popularity (which remained despite how poorly he treated her) to the nomination. She did what she had to do. But I don't think I want my daughter looking at her as a role model. Although, maybe history will white wash a lot of that, and it won't be so bad. The only new thing they are doing in this cycle is mimicking progressives, like Trump's comment "Hey look at my black guy here". Or "I'll protect the LGBTQ" after picking a VP who wrote laws allowing for discrimination of them.......Yea we should believe that bullshit coming from a party that panders to a base that calls Mexicans rapists, that panders to a base that equates a minority of protesters as all being violent "thugs" when most are not. This coming from a party that constantly stops any attempts to make wages livable. The same party that refuses to pay women equally. The only thing new they are doing is trying to put lipstick on a pig. They could give one rats ass less about workers ability to survive. All this new bullshit of claiming to care is simply using social issues to divide society so they can continue to protect more corporate welfare. The GOP does not care about governing, they only care about protecting their corporate puppet masters. Even Obama had a chance the first 4 years in office to get a public option all he had to do was twist a few arms to get it done. But even so now i hope congress does the right thing when she is in office i really do they need to keep shooting down the TPP.

Huh? No the ACA while better than what we had prior, had nothing to do with Obama not twisting enough arms to get a public option, but because the amount of brats in the GOP that protect the private insurance cubicles and medical supply industry, Obama was stuck working with what he could. The only way we will get a public option is to get rid of enough of the GOP in the House and Senate along with taking and keeping the White House for another two terms. Again, Hillary is still our best option, but change again, is never one person and often can extend beyond one term and even be generational. But if dems want TTP to be stopped, then it cannot be a one day tweet, or letter to the editor, it has to be a daily event directly to the politicians and local, state and federal gov, not just social media. |
