Have you witnessed a ridiculous religious temper tantrum?

Have you witnessed a ridiculous religious temper tantrum?
Today, my father-in-law comes over screaming about how they took his Interactive Weather Channel away from him.  And of course he says that the Devil convinced them to do it, and that they were communists, and that they probably watched pornography and liked the 'gays'.  I had to stop myself from laughing, especially when he complained about how they kept 'ungodly' programs on like 'the view' and 'Dr. Phil'.  It was a very religious temper tantrum, with how he was going to pray to god to deal with them because they took it away.  It was just completely ridiculous.  (He said some other ridiculous things that I won't even repeat)  I'm glad my kids were out swimming in the pool, so they didn't have to hear it.  They'd probably think their grandpa was crazy.

Have you ever witnessed a rant like that?  In person, I mean.  I'm sure there's all kinds online.  What's the most ridiculous thing you've heard?

Oh geez, my Mother used to have one or two of those a week.  Some of the teachers at the xtian school I went to had 'em too.  And then there are the bible thumping preechurs . . .
I think I would have to say that the preacher who went off on a tangent about gays on television shows being accepted as "real people" instead of demons from hell gets close to the top of the list.  He said things like "we should be able to shoot these monsters on sight" and "we'll get to watch the Lord destroy them after we are Raptured" in a sermon.

White Lion Bar in Belfast, years ago. Some woman threw her food on the floor (apparently, it wasn't what she ordered) and began shrieking about how Jesus needed to show up NOW and destroy the evildoers and whoremongers. It went on for a bit before the peelers escorted her out.

Glad to hear they haven't inherited whatever it is your father has.

Had an asshole harangue me on public transit about 12 years ago about his lord and saviour that redoubled in intensity when I told him I was an atheist and didn't want to hear his shit. Got to the "STFU or else" point.

Do you need a father in law safe zone?

Witnessed, not in person. Some on TV. Most were melt downs after being caught sinning. Swaggart, Baker, and Haggard come to mind.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

I wasn't a party to it but a nearby church disenfranchised an older female member during their Sunday service some time back. I never heard a clear explanation for why she was bumped, I assume something major like picking up sticks on the Sabbath, but I did hear it got pretty ugly, wailing and gnashing of teeth, rebukes, and dueling casting out demons.

Probably would have made a great YouTube video.
