Funny how no one ever accused Trump of racism until after he became a presidential candidate.

Funny how that is completely false.  But I guess Trump supporters don't deal in facts, do they?

Quote:One early red flag arose in 1973, when President Richard Nixon’s Justice Department — not exactly the radicals of the day — sued Trump and his father, Fred Trump, for systematically discriminating against blacks in housing rentals.

I’ve waded through 1,021 pages of documents from that legal battle, and they are devastating. Donald Trump was then president of the family real estate firm, and the government amassed overwhelming evidence that the company had a policy of discriminating against blacks, including those serving in the military.

To prove the discrimination, blacks were repeatedly dispatched as testers to Trump apartment buildings to inquire about vacancies, and white testers were sent soon after. Repeatedly, the black person was told that nothing was available, while the white tester was shown apartments for immediate rental.

Quote:As Trump moved into casinos, discrimination followed. In the 1980s, according to a former Trump casino worker, Kip Brown, who was quoted by The New Yorker: “When Donald and Ivana came to the casino, the bosses would order all the black people off the floor. … They put us all in the back.”

In 1991, a book by John O’Donnell, who had been president of the Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, quoted Trump as criticizing a black accountant and saying: “Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day. … I think that the guy is lazy. And it’s probably not his fault, because laziness is a trait in blacks. It really is, I believe that. It’s not anything they can control.” O’Donnell wrote that for months afterward, Trump pressed him to fire the black accountant, until the man resigned of his own accord.

Trump eventually denied making those comments. But in 1997 in a Playboy interview, he conceded “the stuff O’Donnell wrote about me is probably true.”

Well, if the New York Times said it it MUST be true! (sarcasm) And was there an actual indictment? You do realize that anyone who is successful makes themselves a target for litigation. 1973 !?!?! Really. That's what you're clinging to. C'mon.

You claimed no one ever accused him of racism before he ran for president, and I cited three recorded instances.  You don't like the New York Times?  Fine.  Here you go...

If you pulled your head out of your ass, you'd see that the accusations of racism against him are well-documented and span decades.

The other part of the reason is that, as the election rode on he got chicken and dove to the right. By the end Labour policy was little more than "we'll implement almost the same stuff as the Tories, but we won't sneer as much." And when you've two parties offering the same thing, the party doing it longer and offering the more emphatic version wins.

Of course, so badly misjudging Scotland hurt massively too.

So, there are no racists who support Clinton then?

She said half of Trump supporters are racist, homophobic, etc....

About 60% of them believe the president is secretly a Muslim, born in Kenya, or both. 20% of them are doubtful that freeing the slaves was a good idea.

Of course there are racists who support Clinton. No one said otherwise. She doesn't seem to be pandering to them to get the racist vote, though.

Why are you bringing up indictments when your claim is that no one ever accused Trump of being a racist until he became a presidential candidate?

Never mind. I know why.
