The US Has Confirmed Hundreds Of Deaths Occurred At Native American Boarding Schools

The remains of more than 500 children were discovered at burial sites as part of a wide-ranging investigation into the Indian boarding school system that systematically erased Indigenous culture across the US from the early 1800s to around 1970.

Furthermore, the number of children whose bodies were dumped in the mass graves is expected to be much higher.

Still, the early results of the report released Wednesday are damning and confirm what survivors and their family members have long been describing: a systematic effort by the US government and Christian institutions to erase their existence and cultures by targeting and taking away their children.

The main strategy was forcing their children to be Christian Americans, and the government tapped and paid churches to help run the system. Children were "coerced, induced, or compelled" to enter the schools, many without their parents' consent.

These schools had the capacity to house up to 1,700 children, who were often severely mistreated. According to the report, students endured "rampant physical, sexual, and emotional abuse; disease; malnourishment; overcrowding; and lack of health care." As part of their "education," administrators also made them do hours of "industrial work," including cooking and cleaning, farming fields, and working on railroad systems.

If they did not follow the rules, teachers and administrators often beat and tortured the children. Punishments included solitary confinement, flogging, starvation, whipping, slapping, and cuffing.

Pentecostal Church Murders Toddler, Mum OK With It

A small Pentecostal church in San Jose, California, has confirmed the death of a 3-year-old girl following an attempted exorcism last September...


According to the police report, Hernandez tried "to stick her finger down the victim's throat and squeezed the victim's neck to induce vomiting" in order to cast out the demon. She also attempted to open Proctor's mouth with her hands. When Huezo arrived at the church to assist Hernandez and her brother in praying over the girl, the three of them reportedly took turns holding the child down by her neck, abdomen, and legs to induce vomiting until Proctor "vomited a clear/purple liquid." The incident left the girl with injuries around "her eyes, throat/neck, and chest."

As stated in the report, Hernandez called police around 8:12 pm and reported that her daughter died at the church between 6:00-6:30 pm following the exorcism. The child was pronounced deceased by Valley Medical Center at 8:59 pm.

Days before her arrest in January, Hernandez addressed her daughter's death in a video on her YouTube channel.
"I could sit here and be negative … be sad about the whole situation that she passed away," she said at the time.
"But it's like, there is no point because it is what it is. It's many reasons why God took her. What if something would have happened to her, what if she would have had a sickness? It is what it is. I gotta be positive about the situation. You know, like at least she's not suffering," Hernandez continued. "That's what I'm thankful for, that she's not gonna grow up in that world, like in that world we live in."

The Archdiocese of Santa Fe in New Mexico announced it had reached a $121.5 million settlement agreement to resolve a bankruptcy case that stemmed from sex abuse claims, one of the largest settlements involving the Catholic Church in the U.S.

Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) Sexual Abuse Apocalypse

The conclusions of the report are so massive as to almost defy summation. It corroborates and details charges of deception, stonewalling, and intimidation of victims and those calling for reform. It includes written conversations among top Executive Committee staff and their lawyers that display the sort of inhumanity one could hardly have scripted for villains in a television crime drama. It documents callous cover-ups by some SBC leaders and credible allegations of sexually predatory behavior by some leaders themselves, including former SBC president Johnny Hunt (who was one of the only figures in SBC life who seemed to be respected across all of the typical divides).

Allegations of sexual violence and assault were placed, the report concludes, in a secret file in the SBC Nashville headquarters. It held over 700 cases. Not only was nothing done to stop these predators from continuing their hellish crimes, staff members were reportedly told not to even engage those asking about how to stop their child from being sexually violated by a minister. Rather than a database to protect sexual abuse victims, the report reveals that these leaders had a database to protect themselves.

Indeed, the very ones who rebuked me and others for using the word crisis in reference to Southern Baptist sexual abuse not only knew that there was such a crisis but were quietly documenting it, even as they told those fighting for reform that such crimes rarely happened among “people like us.” When I read the back-and-forth between some of these presidents, high-ranking staff, and their lawyers, I cannot help but wonder what else this can be called but a criminal conspiracy.
