There's a page breaking down gun deaths by country and year. I posted it quite often when that question came up. I still have them in my bookmarks somewhere. But right now I can only say it exists, since I haven't got the time to find it.

Yes, they should have shot the fucker instead, that way you can get your 89 seconds and 8/10ths of a second back.

A bit like when the cops shot (correctly) Kajieme Powell when he refused to put down the knife. He was probably as stupid as hell too.

Being stupid isn't a capital offense either.

I'm sure you have numbers at your fingertips and are eager to post a link. You're more likely to die by lighting in Germany though. Where the cops only shot about half these numbers between 1952 and 2015, as I linked to in another thread.

Lightining isn't something that's under our control, and subject to criminal law. The fact that shit like malaria kills more people than cops, doesn't make those killings by cops any better, any more excusable. We expect that frm shit like lightning, shit like a disease. Is that what our cops are, a disease..a natural disaster? Is that a relevant comparison?

When we find ourselves saying to ourselves (and to others) "it's not as bad as it sounds" -and then referring to people struck by lightning.......-...well, that might be -why- it's so damned bad. Food for thought.
