The crooks who run the insurance companies think otherwise.
This is why we need a public option. Give those criminal motherfuckers some actual competition.

Yes, and it wasn't going to cost anymore either!

This is unfortunately true. They had a super majority, and could have passed whatever they wanted. Obama is a corporatist,. though, so there were compromises in the hopes of getting some republican support. Which they didn't get, and afterwards the dems lost the Senate. That's the main issue we have with dems like Obama and Hillary. If you shoot for the stars, you might reach the moon, which is why Bernie was so popular. Hillary doesn't get that, because she doesn't really care.

Wrong. There were a handful of blue-dog democrats (conservatives) who would have blocked anything their corporate masters did not like.

How can this even be an issue? You have to understand that things like this are completely alien to a non American.
Prior to ACA the catholic healthcare presence in town was about 20%. After, about 60%. My personal issue, religion has no place in healthcare.

That isn't what Aetna promised, and this has fuck all to do with Obamacare, other than it being Aetna's response to it.

While we're at it, I'd like to remind everyone that the Republican health plan essentially boils down to if you don't have money, you can die in the street.
So let's not score this as a victory for Republicans or conservatives who have attempted exactly nothing - other than obstructionism - to deal with this problem.
P.S. I'm not a Democrat.

And let's not forget that the Repubs torpedoed the attempt at healthcare reform in the 90's. Then they had the presidency, the senate, and the house for six years, yet they refused to even address the issue. Then they fought tooth and nail against the AHA, even propagating outright lies like death panels. But no, it's totally the Dems fault.
I'm not a fan of the Democrats, but at least they're trying to give us something. The Republican healthcare plan can be summed up perfectly when at a debate Ron Paul brought up the hypothetical situation in which a person could not afford healthcare and asked if we should just let them die, and several people in the crowd yelled, "Yes!"
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

The place where I work is very non-corporate. It is one store that has been around since 1987, and we just switched to Aetna.
