Also, no made up superstition can be put on the same level as the Jesus and the bible (or any other major religion for that matter), as far evidence and probability goes. So that answer won't fly, sorry.

You just keep sinking lower into the slime.

Well you where made from slime so you beat me to it, gosh darnit!

You can't mix presuppositionalism with evidence and probability. You can presuppose your desired conclusion, in which case you've dug yourself into a logical hole no one else can dig you out of, the intellectual equivalent of collapsing into a black hole; or you can start with what is known plus agreed upon minimal axioms and reason your way from first principles like a person who wants knowledge instead of a person who wants to hide from knowledge.

That you presuppose your religious claims are true (and therefore you don't have to support them) has all the intellectual heft of the melon-smashing portion of a Gallagher concert.

This is not the "intro" forum, pal.  The gloves come off.

Ad hominem! Please don't muck up this thread, i'm waiting for a refutation.

There's nothing to actually refute. It's like saying you like the Buccaneers. OK, you like the Buccaneers, it has no bearing on whether or not they're a good team. If you're being asked what your favorite team is, or 'do you like the Buccaneers?', it's a fine answer. If you're being asked 'which football team is the best', what you like doesn't really answer that question. And if you're being asked 'Is God real?' and your answer is 'I presuppose that God is real', that doesn't really answer the question either. It is a nonsequitur. Presupposition is a fallacy unto itself, the argument from 'I assume I'm right'.

I presuppose that some fucker will knock on my door at 8:00am on Saturday, and will want me to listen to how his fairy tale saved his life.

SDC. Perhaps if you laid out what you see as the essential argument then this thread would be more productive. I'm not going to spend an hour listening to a video with bad sound just to appreciate whatever point you think you have.

It might even warrant an apology... Tongue

Why won't it "fly", exactly? Because...you say so by fiat? Got anything more substantial?

If something requires apologetics then it is fundamentally flawed. Especially when it comes to the "perfect" word of a deity.
