Quote:In its bid to comply with Obama administration requirements for preservation of staff emails, the Internal Revenue Service spent $12 million subscribing to an enterprise-wide cloud-based email system that turned out not to work with the agency’s existing IT setup, a watchdog found.

Woof, woof...says the watchdog!

Is that gonna be a huge problem?

Good video to watch, if you want to know how common the Jesus story really is.

Probably.  Don't know if it will be as bad as this.....

Quote:The U.S. Navy is still using Windows XP -- now 14 years old and defunct -- and it has to pay Microsoft $9 million to keep supporting it.
Microsoft (MSFT, Tech30) pulled support for Windows XP last year, and will no longer issue security updates to fix major holes in the software. Companies and agencies that are still running XP have the option of paying Microsoft for continued Windows XP updates, which provide an essential line of defense against hackers.
In a statement, the Navy said it has a plan in place to upgrade its systems to a newer version of Windows. It expects to complete its upgrades by July 12, 2016.
Does sound as if they will miss Obama's mandate, though.

Operating systems don't have as big a dick as some tank or a fighter plane. So you have to understand that the army sets it's priorities, given the pittance they get from the overall budget. You have to make some cuts when only granted 500 billions or something along these lines.

RE: Amusing.
This could actually be good news.  If Trump gets elected, he's bound to want to unleash a nuclear barrage on the first newspaper that publishes an opinion piece entitled, 'New President Giving Orange Buffoons A Bad Name'.  When he enters the nuclear strike codes, he'll be presented with

cmd:bootcfg /addsw

and will become so frustrated over not knowing what to do that'll he rush right out and paint his name on something.
