I am a theist, what do you think of my proof for God existing?

And what makes their existence to you less feasible then Allah, Hanuman, Ganesha, Thor, Jesus? And how do you know Tooth Fairy does not exist?

First, that would be a case of circular reasoning if we do nothing but work on words and concepts all in our mind only, but not when we go into the objective reality of things in the default status of the totality of reality which is existence.

OK, so what kind of experience did you have and with which Deity? Was it something like this?

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Dear Readers here, thanks so much for being present in my coffee-shop.

Now, this morning we will undertake to comment on atheists’ beliefs, although individual atheists will tell us that they are all different; just the same they must have some similar beliefs making up their common denominator, otherwise they have no reason whatsoever in calling themselves by the common designation of atheist.

While googling these words, do atheists think, I came across one of the hits in the first page google turned up, namely:

Quote:“What do atheists believe? | Radical Atheist
radicalatheist.com/what-do-atheists-believe-3/
But such differences are not pivotal to the modern atheist's beliefs. We, being all modern day atheists, do verily believe and endorse the following tenets of ...

Upon clicking on the link above there comes forth this webpage, from the ‘radical atheist.com, see ANNEX below.

Here, at the very first paragraph of the page is this declaration:

Quote:[Bolding from Mariosep]

We, being all modern day atheists, do verily believe and endorse the following tenets of Atheism and acknowledge them to be true and proven, by reasonable standards of logic, reason, science, mathematics, and/or observation:

Now, dear readers here, I say nth times that I do thinking on truths, facts, logic, and the history of ideas; with the declaration above, we should know that atheists or more correctly modern atheists think on “reasonable standards of logic, reason, science, mathematics, and/or observation.”

So, let us know what is the first thing they and how think about on “reasonable standards of logic, reason, science, mathematics, and/or observation.”

In this connection we will not bother with the raving mad foul language, personal insults against me, and against God from atheists in this forum, we will concern ourselves with the atheists in radicalatheist.com who are modern atheists.

Here is the first paragraph of what they believe in:

Quote:THE BEGINNING
Based upon the conclusions of those we reasonably believe to be the most intelligent, learned, rational, and knowledgeable in relevant intellectual pursuits, we believe that the theory known as The Big Bang correctly describes the beginning of our universe. We believe this is the only acceptable logic behind the creation of this universe.

Take notice of the text from them:

“we believe that the theory known as The Big Bang correctly describes the beginning of our universe. We believe this is the only acceptable logic behind the creation of this universe.”

Focus now dear readers, on the phrase in bold, italic, and underline font:

“The Big Bang correctly describes the beginning of our universe. We believe this is the only acceptable logic behind the creation of this universe.”

There, dear readers, they admit that the universe has a beginning, all from their best and most acceptable criteria of thinking and thus knowing or thus believing.

They declare: “…the beginning of our universe. We believe this is the only acceptable logic behind the creation of this universe.”

What do I say about that?

I say, dear modern atheists, thank you: you and I are in unison that the universe has a beginning, and I tell you that everything with a beginning is created and operated by God, in concept as first and foremost the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning.

Wherefore, case closed, no need to debate further, you are like me, we are all you modern atheists and I a theist, we both hold that the universe has a beginning, wherefore it follows from your best criteria of thinking. Oh atheists who are existing and operating in modern times, and me also from my best criteria of thinking, we do concur, namely:

That God exists, in concept as first and foremost the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning.

Let us now, dear readers, sit back and await with bated breath the reactions of atheists here on my conclusion that atheists accept that God exists as the creator and operator of the universe.

Things to know about atheists

Modern atheists hold many beliefs that are common to all or nearly all atheistic believers. To be sure, there are variations based on ongoing advancements in science and mathematics. But such differences are not pivotal to the modern atheist’s beliefs. We, being all modern day atheists, do verily believe and endorse the following tenets of Atheism and acknowledge them to be true and proven, by reasonable standards of logic, reason, science, mathematics, and/or observation:

THE BEGINNING
Based upon the conclusions of those we reasonably believe to be the most intelligent, learned, rational, and knowledgeable in relevant intellectual pursuits, we believe that the theory known as The Big Bang correctly describes the beginning of our universe. We believe this is the only acceptable logic behind the creation of this universe.

LIFE
Based upon the conclusions made by learned men we believe:
1) That life came into being without purpose and without intelligent design or intervention.
2) That humans have not yet been able to create a living organism from inanimate materials, but one day we will be able

OCCAM’S RAZOR
Occam’s razor holds that, when selecting among competing hypotheses we should usually select the one which offers the simplest explanation, the foregoing beliefs are the simplest explanation for human condition. It logically follows that there is no god and we reject the possibility that god exists.

Mariosep makes every post like he's starting a new conversation. Maybe that's because he ignores everything everyone says and is just talking to himself.
“Love is the only bow on Life’s dark cloud. It is the morning and the evening star. It shines upon the babe, and sheds its radiance on the quiet tomb. It is the mother of art, inspirer of poet, patriot and philosopher.

It is the air and light of every heart – builder of every home, kindler of every fire on every hearth. It was the first to dream of immortality. It fills the world with melody – for music is the voice of love.

Love is the magician, the enchanter, that changes worthless things to Joy, and makes royal kings and queens of common clay. It is the perfume of that wondrous flower, the heart, and without that sacred passion, that divine swoon, we are less than beasts; but with it, earth is heaven, and we are gods.” - Robert. G. Ingersoll

Have to say this is a first. A coffee shop with imaginary coffee.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

To be clear I cant refute what you wrote because there seems to be nothing of substance to refute, just a random collection of words

Try this - sums up his bullshit quite nicely.

And your evidence for this is "people have noses." And you think that's a slam-dunk case.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

He did manage to string 7 words together before going off the rails.

Progress? Maybe not. Perhaps Mariosep is just less manic at the moment because he went to Sunday church services and has expended most of his energy there.

Upon reviewing the thread, I am increasingly of the opinion that we are dealing with someone who is seriously mentally ill. This incessant posting may be a form of religious scrupulosity, an OCD variant that Mariosep is using to quell his own terror of hellfire. Perhaps he's made a bargain with his invisible friend that if he converts just one atheist, he himself will not be thrown on the barbecue and reduced to sentient, immortal chicharrón.

The noises you hear when Mariosep posts are the bleating of a scared and confused sheep. He calls atheists hateful for daring to question his beliefs, but is too fucking scared to question his god for doing things that are infinitely more hateful and infinitely more evil than anything we could possibly do.

He may never come to understand how badly he's lost here. I don't think he's capable of understanding, at least not at the moment. It will probably take nothing less than the catastrophic, total and irreversible loss of his faith to shake him off the hamster wheel he's tied himself to.

Thanks, all ye who just came in to my coffee-shop.

For you guys who have not read my latest proof for the existence of God, see ANNEX below.

For the rest of old-timers here, please take up with the beginning of the universe as professed by the modern atheists of radicalatheist.com.

I have just found out that them and me we concur on God existing in concept as first and foremost the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning.

Because them theists at radicalatheist.com, they also know that the universe has a beginning, as also I have been telling you guys from time immemorial here.

Happy thinking, and please no more raving mad foul language and insults on my person, and on God, in concept as first and foremost the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning.

See you guys again tomorrow in the coffeep-shop of yours truly, courtesy of the founders and owners and operators of atheistforums.org.

All hail to them!

Okay, dear atheist colleagues here, let us go together into my proof for God existing, so that you will already stop with complaining that I have not proven God exists.

But you see, the trouble in talking with atheists is that you atheists don't care to first work with me together on the meanings of words used, like for example, what is evidence.

   Anyway, here goes.

My proof is essentially founded on the evidence in the default status of things in the totality of reality which is existence.

   1. In the totality of reality which is existence we you and I know about babies, and the nose in our face.

   2. Babies and nose in our face do not create themselves.

   3. So they need a creator to bring them to the default status of things in the totality of reality which is existence.

   4. As they babies and nose do exist in the totality of reality which is existence, it follows that a creator first and ultimately created them.

   5. There, babies and nose are two instances of evidence for the existence of God, in concept as first and foremost the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning.

   6. That is the proof from evidence for God existing, in concept as first and foremost the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning.

So, you do comprehend with the above steps Nos. 1 to 6, that I have proven the existence of God, in concept as first and foremost the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning.

So, let us all dear readers here sit back and await with bated breath for the comments of atheists on my proof for God existing.

And please, dear atheists, no more complaining that I have not proven God exists, first and foremost in concept as the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning.
