Check up follow up

Check up follow up
Had another Dr vis today.

Had test results come in, cholesterol is fine (surprise) BP is fine (big surprise) and almost everything else is fine

-except-

I hadn't eaten in a LOOOOONG time, and blood sugar was somewhat above normal range.  Poo!

and

PSA is slightly above normal range too.

New Dr seems fine to me, so jumped into the fray and gave some more medical history (surprise for Dr now) and we discussed a few things and decided a hep test was a good idea.
So had another blood draw. Not bothering with an HIV test, just had one, but hep, yeah, better get checked.

Also, he asked about tetanus booster, and I did the math and it's been 20 years, so got up to date on that.  I'm doing farm work, easy enough to get cut, scratched or scraped, so best to get it.  LOL, though, if not for lockjaw, I would not be here.

Really.

Long ago there was a childless couple, tried for years to have a kid.  Nothing.  As we've learned anecdotally in the 70's and on, sometimes adopting a kid can 'trigger' a natural conception, much to the surprise of the parents who assumed they were barren.  Well, back in the 50's, this wasn't appreciated.  Anyhow, the childless couple had some friends in a terrible car wreck, and during their lengthy convalesce, they both contracted lock jaw.  In the aftermath of the accident, the childless couple wound up caring for a newborn and a toddler.

LOL, 'biology' mistook the temporary careplan for an actual adoption, and 11 months after getting their infant  wards, they delivered a healthy kid of their own!

Any how, the parents in the wreck eventually recovered and got their kids back, and every one in both homes lived happily everafter.

and that's my lock jaw story, anyhow, I digress.

So, I get a referral to a specialist next week (and the other referral later this year is still on) and it looks like I'm getting probed.  And not in the fun "Kevin Costner tickles my ovaries" kind of way.  Sigh.

And we had to actually bounce the first PSA referral and get a second.  The first clinic is one I have done work at, and I know some of the staff and the Dr. too.  Well, I don't want people I know 'professionally probing' me.  It's just better for me if every one involved is a stranger.  I'm funny that way.

Also noticed I need an eye exam.  Distance vision is not as crisp, and I'm seeing a discrepancy in resolution right eye vs left too.  I'm sure my eyes are fine, these glasses I have are clearly malfunctioning.

So, while I have a great insurance plan, getting things taken care of.

After the first of the year, well, I'll worry about that then . .

Well;

still haven't got the eyes checked.

I'm negative for hep B and C, a HUGE relief. Never been tested for either before, and I haven't live the kind of life that would assuage concerns.

As for the PSA, well, went over family history with the PA, and there are some concerns. Then got groped by the intern. Not as bad as it could have been, while young, he had a professional demeanor (translation: adequately masculine) and it didn't hurt (no comments there about him being pulled in to his doom) but I was well aware he is still new to doing that.

And then the main event: The specialist came in, and wanted a grope of his own. Well, he looks like Jason Statham, so I was definitely ready for that.

Oh !!! Daddy !!!

Anyhow, another PSA in 90 days, watchful waiting, yada, yada, yada !!

I suppose I could be a little morose, if my results were worse I'd get to see the HOT specialist sooner. Damn, he was SMOKING HOT!!

I was nice though, he wasn't aware he was being mentally raped the hole time he was hole timing your vorlon.

LOL, my apprehension was apparent during the BP check before the fun began: 160/80 Ooofda!

Don't think I'm in too much trouble here.

And it was decidedly odd knowing a huge insurance corporation was actually paying people good money to check out my butt.

IOW, I needed some humor to keep me from running to the stairwell and collapsing into the fetal position while screaming in terror like a little girl.

Colonoscope in 5 weeks, oofda! A fantastic voyage is in store.

I'm crossing my fingers that the rest of the checks will turn out great. Also, remind me not to become a doctor... Tongue

Any follow up on the blood sugar?

Somewhere I got the idea that you were going to be cut? Am I wrong?

blood sugar was only slightly high, and the PSA took precedence in Drs attention. And my being nearly 60 and never having had an Imax of the bowels had him a little jumpy too.

I've got a mole that needs whittled, seam in my jeans seems to aggravate it, so it has formed a callous of sorts, it will be tended to

More good news, I keep seeing the prevnar commercials so asked about it but dr doesn't see any need for it in my case, too damn healthy to worry about it.

I'm being evaluated for some research studies in regards to the PSA too, would have no objection to doing a stint as a lab rat.

LOL, also realized my dentist has taken a better medical history of me than the Dr or the specialists . . .

but I;m bringing the dr up to speed every visit.

Yeah, records transferred, but they don't mention everything, and I've got a new policy of glasnost going, so I'm fessing up to stuff the priors didn't know about.
