Evolution in Action
More reality to throw in the faces of creationist morons.

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/...irth-eggs/

Quote:Evolution has been caught in the act, according to scientists who are decoding how a species of Australian lizard is abandoning egg-laying in favor of live birth.

Along the warm coastal lowlands of New South Wales (map), the yellow-bellied three-toed skink lays eggs to reproduce. But individuals of the same species living in the state's higher, colder mountains are almost all giving birth to live young.

Only two other modern reptiles—another skink species and a European lizard—use both types of reproduction. (Related: "Virgin Birth Expected at Christmas—By Komodo Dragon.")

Evolutionary records shows that nearly a hundred reptile lineages have independently made the transition from egg-laying to live birth in the past, and today about 20 percent of all living snakes and lizards give birth to live young only.

This would be one of those transitional species that creationists say dont exist.

Ah but the more sophisticated moron will still say, its evolving within its "kind". The goal posts conveniently shuffled.

Clearly Satan planted those fossils. It's the only logical explanation.
'We must respect the other fellow's religion, but only in the sense and to the extent that we respect his theory that his wife is beautiful and his children smart.' H.L. Mencken

'False religion' is the ultimate tautology.

'I care not much for a man's religion whose dog and cat are not the better for it.' Abraham Lincoln

It's not even a fossil! It's a normally egg-laying species that is now sometimes giving live births!

The only way this could prove the case for evolution harder is if it gave birth to a girbil with psychic powers and the ability to maul Brendon Fraiser.
If today you can take a thing like evolution and make it a crime to teach in the public schools, tomorrow you can make it a crime to teach it in the private schools and next year you can make it a crime to teach it to the hustings or in the church. At the next session you may ban books and the newspapers...
Ignorance and fanaticism are ever busy and need feeding. Always feeding and gloating for more. Today it is the public school teachers; tomorrow the private. The next day the preachers and the lecturers, the magazines, the books, the newspapers. After a while, Your Honor, it is the setting of man against man and creed against creed until with flying banners and beating drums we are marching backward to the glorious ages of the sixteenth centry when bigots lighted fagots to burn the men who dared to bring any intelligence and enlightenment and culture to the human mind. ~Clarence Darrow, at the Scopes Monkey Trial, 1925

Politics is supposed to be the second-oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first. ~Ronald Reagan

Well...let's see.

How about this?

God is tweaking his creation because he didn't get it right the first time.

Oh wait....THEY can't say that, can they?

To find transitional species... just look everywhere Smile We are all tansitional.

@Minimalist: They don't need that, they will simple disregard it as they disregard radiometric dating.

Aren't dogs living examples of speciation?

Dogs are the result of artificial selection, granted, but nonetheless are examples of how a different species might come about.

Natural selection works by a similar process as artificial. It just takes longer. If you can walk a block, you can walk a mile.

That's incredibly interesting, to say the least! It makes you wonder what these species will end up like in a few hundred years, and how they will have advanced in that time.

I remember hearing somewhere about how cheetahs are beginning to hunt in packs as opposed to remaining solitary hunters. Very intriguing stuff!
