So I absolutely hate the fact that my BT mouse for my MacBook Pro disconnects after like 2 minutes of inactivity.

I cannot, for the life of me, find a setting for this. Is this the mouse itself? Is there a setting hidden somewhere in BT settings? It is not an Apple Mouse, I fucking despise the fact that I would have to pay $80 for a "Magic Mouse." Fuck that.

Am I missing something? I am inclined to think this is a mouse specific setting, as I cannot find any other people having the issue on Stack Overflow.

I don't think it's in the mouse itself. As far as I know they don't have settings, so there should be a way to change it on your Mac.

This is probably a stupid and obvious question, but have you tried checking out the Mouse tab under System preferences, or perhaps under Power saving? (Not sure if that's exactly what they're called, I'm just impro translating from my Norwegian menu.)

Also, has it been doing this all the time, or has the problem turned up recently? Could it be that the batteries needs to be changed?

I'm unfamiliar with the issue, since I have a Magic Mouse, but I'll try to google a bit to see if something shows up.

I have checked all power/mouse settings, no joy. It has always done this, seems to just be a battery saving issue for the BT mouse.

How odd. What's the name of the mouse? (Brand, model, etc) Could try doing a search on that to see if something useful turns up?

Sorry I can't be of more help than brainstorming basic ideas.

(Another random idea: Have you tried looking on Ebay for a magic mouse? I did that after I lost the charger for my MacBook and nearly died of shock when they told me the price of a new one. Ebay provided me with a fully functioning charger at less than half the price, sent from China. I was skeptical, because the price seemed too good to be true, but I've had it for over a year and it works like a charm.)

Wait wait wait...

You have a Mac and you balk at paying eighty bucks for a mouse?

You are a strange, strange man.

P.S. I have no idea how to solve your problem. I have a love/hate relationship with Bluetooth.

Well I use a macbook pro but that doesn't mean I know how it works or what any of the doohickeys are called.  But then wouldn't you be shocked if I did?

I'd be shocked to discover that ANY Apple user actually knows how to use a computer.
