In Matthew 15:2 It is the disciples who were criticized for not washing their hands. In Matthew 15:2 The Pharisees asked Jesus why the disciples didn't obey (now read closely here) the traditions of the elders, this is a great difference from the actual law of the scriptures.

Jesus defends Himself by attacking them in a quid pro quo stance for not killing disobedient children according to the commandment; [i]"And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?

Jesus didn't attack them, He did rebuke them and why? Because they were putting tradition over the law they were not upholding, Jesus used the verse Exodus 21:17 for dramatic effect, very clever. Jesus wasn't defending himself or his disciples, He was however rebuking the Pharisees for holding tradition above the scriptures.

For God said,'Honor your father and mother' and anyone who curses his father or mother MUST BE PUT TO DEATH.” (Matthew 15: 3-4).The “command” that Jesus was referring too, and that was in effect at His time, and still is today, was when Moses said: [i]“Honor your father and mother,' and, 'Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.” (Exodus 21:17)

Here's where you are trying to intermingle two verses to suit your own needs, want work here to many smart Christian here for that nonsense. "Honor your father and your mother," comes from the 10 Commandments in Exodus 20:12 this verse sets the stage so to speak for Exodus 21:17. You first should study the culture of the times things were written, honoring ones parent and other family members was a serious matter in those times even in most other nations. To disgrace the family was to do great damage to the families reputation, the families reputation was held in the highest regard it was of the utmost importance. Now on to Exodus 21:17, which by the way is not in effect today and if you knew the scriptures you would know this. This is a subject for another thread. Exodus 21:17 is not about small children its about adults who are the children of their elders. Also the word curse here doesn't mean to use foul language and the two translations I'm using refer to it correctly as to disgrace or dishonor the parents. Read Exodus 20:12 again, it says honor.

Therefore, Jesus says to the Pharisees that they’re to follow God’s command to KILL children that curse their parents relative to Exodus 21:17!  Get it?  Huh? Maybe just a little bit .

Jesus never told the Pharisees to obey Exodus 21:17, He used it as an example to show them that they were holding tradition higher than the law they were suppose to be keeping. You're trying to make these verses sound as if they were about small children being punished by death when nothing could be further from the truth. Has anyone ever noticed that creeps have a double standard? I virtually never see a guy called out for his language, but I have, on many occasions, been treated to such comments as "you fuck goats," "guys should check to see if you have a dick" and the above "potty mouth" comment for swearing. No kidding. It's a fairly regular thing. I'm also often told I'm crazy, mad or "throwing a hissy fit," which I think might be the impression *some men get from me swearing. What the fuck? Thankfully, at least the fucking awkward comment about my appearance is a rare gem.
