3%

[Aoi Magi]

I binged on this netflix series, and I must say I liked it very much. As a future society, their premise seems unlikely, but I wonder if it actually would be a better setup for a society.

So, as at the end it's revealed that the whole idea of their utopian portion is to actually remove the parent child bond, because this bond causes people to be biased, and inheritance of power through the bias results in a society where the undeserving ends up gaining the advantage. Think of monarchy where often succession of power leads to weak, lazy and inept leaders over a few generations. On one hand I believe a parent can push themselves to the limits for their child, but does it really bemefit the society as a whole?

In the society of 3%, the majority of the population has only one goal, and that is to become the best candidate for themselves, so that they can be part of the 3%. And everyone gets a shot at being one of the elites. So the elite society is really comprised of the best people, though at the cost of suffering for the rest of the population...
