Remember, it occurs at 11:59:60 UT (Universal Coordinated Time), and so, if you're on the East Cost, it will happen just before 7 PM this evening.  And, so, you can watch both events!!

A 10x50 pair of binoculars should bag Neptune.  I own a 15x70 pair, but they are hard to hold steady by hand; well worth the investment, though.
