It's a possibility and one the scientists looked at but it should be associated with an Infra-red signature, that is lacking according to the data from the Nordic Optical Telescope, Spitzer Space Telescope and Wide Field IR Survey Explorer.
It's too old to be a coalescing disc.
The next candidate is a swarm of comets several times larger than the entire mass of the Kuiper Belt.

My gut feeling is that the dimming of Tabby's star is too erratic to come from a Dyson swarm construction...

If only we could send somebody to find out. There are plenty of people I'd nominate for a one way trip to the star. Can't we send Donald Trump there? If there are aliens he can show them how to play golf and build a hotel there I guess.

On the SETI front; Breakthrough Listen observations (Greenbank Observatory) carried out 8hrs per night for 2 Months from the end of October, (So Nov-Dec) data gathered aprox 1 petabyte, analysis expected to take a month, so results should show up in Feb.
I'm also seeing stuff regarding some sort of Phase Transition, though I'm not sure how that applies to a main sequence star.
