That info is fairy redundant today.

Decent graphics cards need dedicated power these days...
Up to 300 watts on their own.

I think my power supply is up to 1.71 gigawatts!

It's more frequently than not, not the engineer but rather someone from the business side of things that demands breaking interoperability. Engineers don't write product requirements, nor can we change them.

Indeed.  But it's useful info for me and guys like me.  I like to mess around with the really old stuff.  I try to cobble together the older machines and doing it as cheap as possible.  It's more of a hobby really as the older machines have of course quite limited performance.

Still, I enjoy getting a machine up and running that most people will just throw out although finding parts for the older machines is starting to get difficult...
