With a statistical sample of one planet to go by, we're all technically just guessing...
At this stage, saying we are the only life out there is like saying god exists somewhere, but we haven't found him yet...
Both unfalsifiable at this stage...

Etism- Belief in the existence of extraterrestrial life in the universe.
Aetism- The absence of a belief in the existence of extraterrestrial life in the universe.
Positive Aetism- The belief that there is no extraterrestrial life in the universe.
Agnostic Etist- Someone who believes in the existence of extraterrestrial life, but also believes we can never prove whether it exists or not (will never discover it).
Gnostic Etist- Someone who believes in the existence of extraterrestrial life, and also believes we can know whether it exists.

Maybe I should remain an Aetist unless we ever discover ET life. The burden of proof is on the Etist.
