IKR?  Seems to me like "pc culture" may have found their shame.  Bigots don't even know how to bigot anymore.  It's pathetic.

@Neo
Oh, I see, when you hear someone babbling about the darkies you're on the fence...you think to yourself "hmn, well, maybe they aren't racists - how could I know"?

-Maybe they gave it away when they started babbling about darkies?  Or..maybe...particularly in your example..of fucking neo-nazis....... they gave it away without having to say a single word?

And the irony is they don't mind flinging perjoratives around, but are unable to accept them when flung back at them.

No they're not. For example when I use that word (and I do often) nothing even relating to homosexuals is in my mind. People can and do use it as just a general prejorative.

So it's acceptable to use a perjorative if you don't, in your heart of hearts, mean it in it's original usage, but in a more general sense.

So, you are a bigot.  I don't mean that in the original sense, it's just a general insult I'm leveling at you.  You've established that is acceptable to you, so how do you know every person calling you (or anyone) a bigot doesn't mean it in the same way when you use faggot as a general perjorative?

See, this cuts both ways.

The take-away here is:

p.s.  Kinda funny that the complaint is that RACIST and BIGOT have come to just mean any old asshole, you know they have become a sort of general pejorative, instead of being used in their more specific, original intent.  Hmm, and people don't seem to like having that general pejorative leveled at them.  Hmm.  Makes you really think, eh? lol

My response is, I do think people need to have some conviction and stand by what they say a bit more.

If you're so bothered by "political correctness", you're not doing much to fight against it by backing down and crying when people call you out on something you said that offends them. If you genuinely believe what you said is a reasonable well-thought-out opinion and you have a decent argument to back-up what you're saying, stand by what you said.

There's people who would probably think I'm "bigoted" and "transphobic" because I don't accept these attention-seeking Tumblrina "76 genders", and because I don't believe gender is entirely a social construct. Oh fucking well that's my opinion, and if the best argument you have against that is to be outraged and throw some generic buzzword at me, I'm not bothered.

This is a perfect example.

So Yeaux is allowed this opinion, and there are people on the internet who identify as nonbinary genderflux femme who might be angry that he doesn't recognize this. They might say stupid, ignorant things in response to his opinion. He is still allowed to voice his opinion. He is not being censored if he got a tweet storm from 700 angry femme genderflux individuals voicing their opinion. Such is the world of social media.

Exactly

Unless my post is removed or I'm banned from Twitter for "being offensive" then it's not censorship. And when the enraged replies are (predictably) nonsensical non-arguments, onlookers can decide for themselves who they agree with.

But they should be for responding, to hear some tell it, that pc culture shit has to stop. It's time we put an end to mean responses to vile opinions from bigoted shit-for-brains. It's ruining america and endangering our free speech.

RE: The sad future of the democratic party
The basic rule to politics is this: whenever the people like things the way they are or they just don't want change, they vote for the party that's already in power.  When they want change, they vote for the other guy.  Clinton lost certain key states because people in the rust belt wanted change.  4 years of Trump should be more than enough to convince them to change back.  Hell, 4 weeks of Trump has caused a lot of people to change their minds.

As for me, I'm more worried about smaller, local elections.  Census is coming up, with the redistricting that comes with it.  If the Dems are in charge of the states when that happens, they get to redistrict the states in their favor; if the GOP is in power, they get to put themselves in power.  So the next few local elections are the kinds of elections that are going to impact the country for the next decade.  I mean, I'm no big fan of gerrimandering, but if it's gonna be done, I'd rather it be done in my favor.

But it's not just the democrats or republicans who need a revolution: the country needs a revolution.  Politically, we've gotten more and more divided over the past 20 years.  The media we listen to is getting more and more partisan and instead of listening to other people, we're all locking ourselves off in our own little echo chambers.

National elections are bread and circuses at this point...there's nothing else to them.  The same is increasingly true of state elections.  When;s the last time your state senator broke party lines?

If we want something done, we need to do it where the work is actually done.  Bottom up, not top down. Even -while- the top is screaming it's head off the bottom just does wtf it's going to do anyway. What is the fed or the state going to do about it, bitch on twitter and the cnns? Nobs.

Yep i agree because otherwise were looking a fundamental change or what ever. The top will never stoop low enough to fix the problems at the bottom
this is why i don't like voting in general i'll vote but i wont be happy about it. I agree we the people who are on the bottom should fix our own problems rather than
hoping and uselessly pray for change to happen. Because hey the rich are minority in the country the average joe on the other hand is the majority.
