you seem like a strong advocate of the stand-your-ground law.

Blocking traffic doesn't make it ok for people to get run over. Feeling intimidated by a crowd  also isn't a good enough reason to run over people. One can always open up a map and pick another route, and even then, if blocking traffic is a headache, there are law agents to arrest or disperse the crowd, there's no reason for a random person to run over another person just cause they are blocking the way.

No law should promote the killing of another human being, but I'm gonna point something out real quick. If one is in reasonably fear for their life or of great bodily harm, they have the right to use lethal force in self-defense or defense of another. Generally speaking. In a riot situation though, it would be hard to isolate exactly who was threatening you though. 

Whatever. 

The proposed law in the OP sanctions killing and is so horribly vague on its face that almost any court would declare it void.

A lawmaker in North Dakota sponsored a bill that would reportedly protect drivers who inadvertently hit pedestrians blocking traffic.

The Star Tribune reported Monday that the legislation is a response to protests at Standing Rock Indian Reservation, and sponsored by state Rep. Keith Kempenich, R-Bowman.

So the driver of that truck earlier in Spain could say that he inadvertently drove down all those people blocking traffic. Did ISIS come up with this bill to let their driver killers off the hook?

I didn't know there was a truck incident in Spain like that.
I think it's unreasonable to suggest that people won't be able to tell the difference between someone running over a crowd on purpose as part of a terrorist attack vs people attacking a vehicle and getting run over while trying to do so.

First off, the law already protected someone who is in a vehicle and under attack.

So what does it really accomplish?

Oh yeah giving driver the right to commit possible mass murder or mass mutilation because they" feel" threatened. I can totally see this not backfiring .I totally don't see escalating violence at protests. Yup the protesters aren't going to start counter measures to this. They are just roll over and die. Once again Republicans prove they don't think there plans through.They just do them. Can't wait to see the next time a democrat wins an election if A asshole still supports this law when it's conservatives being killed in mass my guess is not.
